Omiwa Cherry Blossoms 2018

The hiking trails near Omiwa Shrine connect to a foothill with a great view of the area and a number of weeping cherry trees, shidare-zakura, that make a very beautiful scene.

These photos were taken on April 9th 2018, as most other cherry blossoms had already fallen for the season.

A lantern with a nice Japanese theme.

From the observation point you can see the 32 meter tall daitorii that stands some distance from Omiwa shrine.

There were quite a few hikers here but there this photo was taken at a vacant moment.

A scene with nice colors and interesting landscaping in the form of the bamboo fence and the stone retaining wall.
